Black or White

Short Film | Director & Creative Vision Lead (Production Design Collaboration)

As the director of Black or White, I worked closely alongside the film’s Production Designer to develop the visual identity and emotional tone of the story. From the beginning of pre-production, I helped conceptualize the overall look and feel of the film, guiding decisions around color palette, set mood, and wardrobe styling to reflect the 1960s setting and the complex themes of racial tension, romance, and rebellion.

I created detailed visual references and collaborated on mood boards that informed key decisions in costume design, prop selection, and environmental styling. Together, we brought the juke joint, school, and domestic spaces to life—ensuring each set felt immersive, era-accurate, and emotionally grounded.

While I was not the official Production Designer, my strong creative direction played a pivotal role in shaping the film’s visual storytelling. Our collaboration ensured that every design element aligned with the narrative and elevated the performances on screen.

Exhibition Extraction

Short Film | Production Designer

As Production Designer for Exhibition Extraction, I was responsible for developing and executing the film’s entire visual environment from concept to completion. I collaborated closely with the director and cinematographer to design a stylized world that complemented the tone, mood, and narrative of the story.

My responsibilities included designing the set layout, styling all principal and background actors, and leading a crew of set builders and decorators to bring our vision to life on a tight schedule. I also handled prop sourcing and material scouting, carefully selecting items that aligned with the film’s aesthetic while staying within budget. From fabricating key design elements to ensuring continuity throughout the shoot, I oversaw every detail of the physical world presented on screen.

This role showcased my ability to manage both the creative and logistical aspects of production design—balancing visual storytelling with practical execution while leading a collaborative team to deliver a cinematic environment that enhanced performance and elevated the narrative.
